Description
Radial McBoost – Mic Signal Booster
The Radial McBoostTM is a microphone signal booster designed to elevate the output of a typical dynamic microphone for greater transient response and boost the signal of a low- output ribbon mic to bring it up to a usable level for mixing consoles, preamps and workstations that may not provide sufficient gain. It features a 100% discrete class-A dual-transistor J-FET circuit that can produce up to 26dB of gain without introducing noise, color or artifact.
A 14-gauge I-beam reinforced steel enclosure prevents outside stress from torquing the sensitive PC board which otherwise could lead to premature part failure. A book-end cover creates protective zones at each end to safeguard the switches, potentiometer and connectors from the rigours of the road. Powered using standard 48-Volt phantom, connect the McBoost using standard 3-pin XLR cables. Three impedance settings optimize the response and a 3-position high-pass filter reduces low-frequency resonance. Whether you are in a recording studio, on a live concert stage or in the middle of a broadcast event, the McBoost elevates the output of your mic to improve signal-to-noise while it adds clarity, excitement and extra drive for long cables.
